Money Matters: Taxes & Accounting Description

Money Matters is your nonprofit’s financial tune-up. This fast-paced Ask the Experts session kicks off with a panel of Arizona’s top nonprofit CPAs, Merchant Services, and tax pros sharing real-world insights on compliance, reporting pitfalls, budgeting best practices, and preparing for audits with confidence. Then the room opens into small breakout “office hours” where you can meet directly with the experts to ask your burning questions — from Form 990 headaches to managing restricted funds. Whether you’re a CFO or wearing the accidental-bookkeeper hat, you’ll leave with clarity and control over your financial future.

Erik Verryden, NexGen Partner Strategies

Born in Portland in 1978 and raised by a hardworking single father, I developed a strong work ethic and an early interest in business. After discovering a talent for sales in high school, I entered the payment processing industry in 2000 while studying business. Seeing gaps in the companies I work for, I built the foundation for my own firm and moved to Arizona in 2003 to launch it. Starting from a small Mesa apartment, I grew the company to more than 40 employees and over 20 independent sales reps, becoming one of the fastest-growing payment organizations in the West. Our success has enabled over $%00,000 in charitable giving through a program linking payment processing to nonprofits. Now headquartered in Anthem, we focus on POS and software integrations, and I stay active through Rotary, the Chamber Board, and various ventures. Outside work, I enjoy family, life, fitness, outdoors, and retro gaming.
