Position Overview

Survivors Empowered Inc is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Grant Research and Writing Intern to join our team. This internship offers an exceptional opportunity to gain hands-on experience in researching, tracking, and composing grant proposals. The ideal candidate will possess strong research skills, excellent written communication abilities, and a deep commitment to our mission of empowering survivors of sexual violence.

Key Responsibilities:

Grant Research:

    • Leverage resources such as the Foundation Directory and relevant databases to identify potential grant opportunities.
    • Conduct comprehensive research on grant-making organizations, including their funding priorities and application guidelines.
    • Evaluate grant opportunities for alignment with the organization's mission, goals, and programs.

Grant Tracking Database:

    • Maintain and update a detailed grant tracking database to monitor the status of grant applications, deadlines, and outcomes.
    • Ensure accurate and timely entry of all grant-related information into the database.
    • Generate weekly reports and summaries to track progress and support informed decision-making.

Assessment of Grant Priority and Feasibility:

    • Assess the priority of potential grants based on alignment with organizational objectives, program needs, and funding gaps.
    • Evaluate the feasibility of securing grants by considering eligibility criteria, application requirements, and competition.
    • Provide strategic recommendations and insights to the team regarding the pursuit of grants.

Grant Writing:

    • Collaborate with the Executive Director, Creative Director, and Advisory members to develop compelling grant proposals and applications.
    • Write clear, concise, and persuasive grant narratives that effectively communicate the organization's mission, programs, and impact.
    • Ensure strict adherence to grant application guidelines and deadlines.
