Position:

The Board will support the work of the Agua Fria Food and Clothing Bank and provide mission-based strategies and leadership. While day-to-day operations are led by Agua Fria Food and Clothing Bank’s Executive Director, the Executive Director-President relationship is a partnership, and the appropriate involvement of the Board is both critical and expected.  Specific Board Member responsibilities include:

                                                                                                                                         

Leadership, partnering and oversight                          

Serving as a trusted partner to the Board President, collaboration will be expected to develop and implement Agua Fria Food and Clothing Bank’s strategic plan.

Reviewing outcomes and metrics created by the Agua Fria Food and Clothing Bank for evaluating its impact, and regularly measuring its performance and effectiveness using those metrics.

Reviewing agenda and supporting materials prior to board and committee meetings.

Collaborate on the Agua Fria Food and Clothing Bank’s annual budget, audit reports, and material business decisions; being informed of, and meeting all, legal and fiduciary responsibilities.

Assisting the Executive Director and Board President in identifying and recruiting other board members.

Partnering with the Executive Director and other board members to ensure that board resolutions are carried out.

Leading and/or serving on committees and taking on special assignments.

Represent the Agua Fria Food and Clothing Bank and act as an ambassador for the Agua Fria Food and Clothing Bank.

Attend monthly meetings and participate.

 

Fundraising

Agua Fria Food and Clothing Bank’s Board Members will consider the Agua Fria Food and Clothing Bank a philanthropic priority and make annual gifts that reflect that priority. The Agua Fria Food and Clothing Bank expects to have 100 percent of Board Members make an annual contribution that is commensurate with their capacity and/or by credibly soliciting contributions from foundations, organizations, and individuals with a net donation of $1,000.00.


Board terms/participation.

Agua Fria Food and Clothing Bank’s Board Members will serve a three-year term to be eligible for re-appointment. Board meetings will be held monthly, and committee meetings will be held in coordination with full board meetings.

 

Qualifications

This is an extraordinary opportunity for an individual who is passionate about the Agua Fria Food and Clothing Bank’s mission and who has a track record of board leadership. Selected Board Members will have achieved leadership stature in education, business, government, philanthropy, or the nonprofit sector. His/her accomplishments will allow him/her to attract other well-qualified, high-performing Board Members.


Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications:

Energetic, motivated, self-starters with an ability to think creatively.

Extensive professional experience with significant executive leadership. accomplishments in business, government, philanthropy, or the nonprofit sector.

Show proficiency at networking, sharing and connecting influencers, & attaining resources for projects.

Have a commitment to the Agua Fria Food and Clothing Bank’s service to its community.

Savvy diplomatic skills and a natural affinity for cultivating relationships and positive influence, convening, facilitating, and building consensus among diverse individuals.

Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, commitment, and a passion in support of the Agua Fria Food and Clothing Bank’s mission.


Service as a Director of the Board with Agua Fria Food and Clothing Bank is without remuneration, except for approved administrative support, travel, and accommodation costs in relation to Board Members’ duties.
