Become a Mentor to College Students!

Community Improvement Education Youth Development
The Earn to Learn match savings scholarship program is designed to help students from low-income families graduate college with little to no student debt. Learn more about our organization on our website

Mentorship pairs have the option to meet virtually or in-person (if they happen to be matched with someone in the same city), most opt to meet virtually. The time commitment is at least one-hour a month meeting. These meetings will include guided conversations around workforce readiness topics such as: resume review, mock interviews, networking, community engagement, internships, work-life balance, etc.

We have students throughout the state of Arizona, who attend community colleges and universities, along with several outside of the state that we have recently added: Ferrum College in Virginia, Western Colorado and University of Tulsa.

There are no requirements to becoming a mentor with Earn to Learn, if you don't have any experience being a mentor or mentee, no worries our conversations are planned out for the entirety of the program. We also share resources and tools to help our mentors during their interactions. All professional backgrounds are welcome to apply.

Program Timeline:
-Application closes on August 5th
-Prospective mentors will complete a background check
-Notification of pairing status- mid August
-Program kickoff in September (ends May 2025)

Every year we conduct a survey of program participants, and every year 100% of past program participants say they would recommend the program to colleagues and peers.

Below are some quotes from last year's mentees:
"My mentor helped me successfully navigate my last year of college. I would have had a much more difficult time getting career ready without her." - 23-24 Mentee
"The mentorship program changed my life and improved me as a student and professional. I feel more confident in my abilities to navigate life after graduation. I also got to connect with my amazing mentor, Vicki, who inspired me to continue striving for success." - 23-24 Mentee
