Born from the success of AZ Gives Day and the passion of a youth climate activist, Earth Gives was founded by Rhonda Bannard—who played a key role in developing AZ Gives Day as the board chair for the Alliance (now AZ Impact for Good). With that experience and a growing awareness that only 2% of all philanthropy supports the climate crisis, she set out to change the landscape of environmental giving.

Thus, Earth Gives and its nationwide giving day were b-earthed.

Earth Gives isn’t just a day—it’s a community-driven movement connecting and supporting climate and environmental nonprofits through year-round programming, investment opportunities, and volunteer engagement. These nonprofits safeguard the water you drink, the air you breathe, the wildlife you cherish, the trails you explore, and even the soil that grows your food. They tackle plastic pollution, advocate for sustainable solutions, and fight for a livable future.

Earth Gives Day runs from early September to early October and is also the climate-focused initiative of GivingTuesday. But beyond the giving day, Earth Gives fosters a holistic, action-oriented approach to living in harmony with both the planet and its people.
