Description

Designed for current and aspiring nonprofit board members
Serving on a nonprofit board is a meaningful way to contribute your skills and leadership to your community—but it also comes with important responsibilities. Our Board Governance Training is a foundational, high-level training designed for individuals who want to better understand what effective nonprofit board service entails.
This training is ideal for:
- Newer board members
- Individuals considering nonprofit board service
- Current board members seeking a refresher on best practices
- Organizations that want to send one or two board members, rather than purchasing a full customized training
What to Expect
This training provides a broad overview of nonprofit board governance and is not customized to a specific organization. Participants will gain practical, universally applicable knowledge that can be used across nonprofit boards of all types.
Topics include:
- Core roles and responsibilities of nonprofit board members
- Fiduciary duties and expectations
- Financial oversight and accountability
- Legal responsibilities and risk management
- Fundraising roles and responsibilities of board members
Each session is structured to provide essential guidance while allowing time for questions based on participants’ individual experiences.
