Description

Coverage & Culture: Legal, Insurance, & HR

This "Coverage & Culture" session of Ask the Experts brings together nonprofit attorneys, insurance specialists, and HR professionals for one essential conversation: how to protect your organization while building a people-first culture.

This session opens with a fast-moving panel on compliance, liability, workplace risk, and employee relations — followed by breakout office hours where you can speak directly with experts about contracts, policies, coverage gaps, staff challenges, and evolving regulations.

Because a strong mission needs both protection and healthy culture.

Meet Your Experts

Deanna Longtin

Founder & CEO, emPowered Workplace

Deanna Longtin founded emPowered Workplace after more than three decades of running small businesses and navigating firsthand the frustration, burnout, and complexity that come with persistent employee issues. Despite her legal background and business expertise, she saw how challenging it was for leaders to align teams, address conflicts early, and maintain a healthy workplace culture while also trying to grow an organization.
Driven to create a better path, Deanna launched emPowered Workplace to help businesses manage employee challenges with clarity, fairness, and confidence. She specializes in bridging the gap between organizational goals and human dynamics, offering customized, expert‑driven strategies that prevent issues before they escalate and support strong, engaged teams.
Deanna’s approach is grounded in both legal insight and a deep understanding of people. Her goal: to ease the burden on leaders so they can focus on mission and growth—while creating workplaces where employees feel respected, empowered, and able to thrive
