In the last century, LGBTQ+ people have fought for rights in the United States. Though LGBTQ+ people have been at the forefront of every major civil rights struggle, their stories are not often told. In this training, we will learn about the landmark stories and cases that led us to our current state. We will then touch on some best practices to create more inclusive and affirming spaces for LGBTQ+ folks. Participants will walk away with a more nuanced understanding of LGBTQ+ history as well as the beginnings of actions they can take toward equity and inclusion.
